More bad blood going round.

Danny Boyle revolutionized the classic horror film genre with his 2002 classic 28 days later, five years later or 28 weeks later in its case, comes the sequel directed by Juan Carlos Fresnadillo.The film includes the new cast of Rose Byrne, Jeremy Renner, Harold Perrineau, Robert Carlyle, Imogen Poots, Mackintosh Muggleton.
Seven months after the rage virus has spread across the whole of Great Britain , the United States army try and take control and believe they’ve succeeded by allowing survivors back into London. One specific family, child siblings Tammy and Andy, are reunited with their father, Don (Robert Carlyle), the only one to escape from the cottage at the beginning of the film.
2002’s 28 Days Later was critical acclaimed and commercial hit, receiving a 89% from Rotten tomatoes for originality. Danny Boyle technical achievements as director where praised mainly for the scenes of a devastated London.
The question is if the sequel can live up to the original, something that’s quite rare especially for the horror genre even if Boyle states that the series is not not a science fiction or horror genre, but rather a drama set to a science fiction/horror background.
28 weeks later so far has gained generally positive reviews. Rotten tomatoes gave it a 69% (it could of been worse) with 81 positive reviews and 36 negative reviews.
Positive comments like
“exciting, action-packed and superbly directed thriller that more than lives up to the original film”
Negative comments like;
“Travelogue shots can only hold interest for so long. And even though the movie is only an hour-and-a-half, it becomes repetitive quickly.”
If your a horror like myself, you know better not to listen to the advice of critics on horror flicks, let you be the judge, you might like it so much that you can’t wait for the third installment which is called?
Take a guess?

Yes, you got it “28 months later”.
